This means that crossfit explode goes to the games - and Emily Pale, who competed as an individual at regionals, would be allowed to compete with her team at the games.
Well, since the substance conferrs a performance advantage it certainly wasn't something recreational... They of course should not announce the certain substance found as it would further tarnish specific individuals' reputations, but they need to provide the complete banned list so everyone knows to stop using their 'drug of choice' in due time for their testing. Not that any of these substances should or should not be used, but the least a competitive athlete should do is be prepared!
You know what, now that I think about it the drug could have been recreational. Cocaine and PCP can make you (feel) stronger, perform faster, and heighten one's pain tolerance...
Given what they said about products available OTC possibly containing banned substances - and the fact that among a list of banned substances in the rule book is caffeine - i'd be willing to bet it was a supplement of some sort that had some banned substance in it. I know some supplements like Jack3d and others are totally legal to buy and consume - but contain substances that are banned by many athletic groups... moral of the story, stay paleo, stay clean, know what you're putting into your body!
I do like Emily Pake but I hope the Emily I saw at Regonols on day 3 isn't the Emily that shows up to the Games. I hope she's feeling better b/c she's so good when she's strong :)

Drama!

Interesting indeed!
Interesting. It's very annoying that they won't say want the substance was, since there are several fairly innocuous banned drugs.
