As many of our athletes may have figured out - I whole heatedly endorse the gaming of your training and your WODs.

The purposes and reasoning behind my opinion, I think, is pointed out beautifully in the Games examples you drew upon, Jason.

- - - I venture to speculate that:
The first 4 WODs created the biggest holes - and thus, must be viewed as the Primary determinants of the Games Results.
(in skimming the comments of the scoring article, many seem to agree)

If you swapped the Rope WOD with the Wavy WOD, Spealler moves up.

Fair Solutions:

1) No Cuts - start and end with a full field of athletes.

2) Weighted scoring to counterbalance the cuts. If you cut out half the field - multiply placement by 2. When the field is one quarter of its original size - Multiply WOD placement by 4.

The 2nd method listed could CRIPPLE last place finishers in the final WODs and create more exciting final results, because of the potential movement in ranking that could occur.
