CrossFit Diesel presents the fourth annual Mid-Atlantic 5Ton 5K, an open CrossFit competition for all skill levels that combines a total of 5 kilometers of distance with 5 cumulative tons of lifting in an epic 1-WOD event. With Rx and scaled divisions for men, women, and teams,
the 5 Ton 5K is an inclusive and fun event for everybody!
Competition kicks off Saturday, September 21st, at 9am with the Men’s and Women’s Individual divisions in four heats, 90 minutes apart. The fun continues Sunday, September 22nd, at 10am with the first Team heat. This competition’s lifts & loads are always based on the famous, familiar CrossFit benchmark WODs, but the specifics of the competition workout are a well-kept secret until event day. Each competition day concludes with a presentation of awards and a barbecue celebration for competitors, spectators, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.
The Goal of the event is to promote fitness for individuals of all ages and ability levels throughout the mid-Atlantic region, through friendly competition in a supportive community.
Those entered as Individual Competitors will have their choice of competing in the rx'd or the scaled divisions. Rx'd Loads will never exceed those of the original 15 CrossFit "Benchmark Girls", with the Women's Rx'd division performing the standard ~2/3rds loading.
