So, is this a good WOD to break in my 5 fingers? Susan and I were just discussing that we love our five fingers but we haven't really run in them....and how are box jumps going to feel....any thoughts/words of advice from all you diehard five finger wearers??
J, I'm glad you care, but a true friend would actually bring me nutritious strawberry pop tarts. I don't think your video is quite as good as mine, but I do appreciate the effort. It must be hard suppressing your urge to project your feline fetish on me, but I am dismayed that you implied I use sunscreen. Everybody knows I'm usually at Chick-fil-A or Cheeburger Cheeburger, INSIDE, eating a bunch of paleo milkshakes, cheeseburgers, and zone waffle fries. It's the diet that put Babe Ruth in the Hall of Fame. It works.
Sujata, no time like the present! I say bust out the VFFs today for a test run and start getting warmed up to them. As a running coach, I normally recommend running no more than a mile for someone's first go around with VFFs, and with 7x200m scheduled for today that works out to just under a mile with some rest (from running) breaks. You'll notice the instant feedback on your running form (quicker turnover, midfoot strike, landing under your center of mass, etc). As for the box jumps, it will be slightly more impact but with better force transmission through the ground. It won't be as cushy, put this is CrossFit so it'll toughen you up! Welcome to the pseudo-barefoot club!
Jason, that was awesome! I am going to try that as a set the first chance I get. Maybe next strongman day or something... stiff leg power clean, hang power clean, push press. 10 rounds once every thirty second.

Yes, I was waiting for that comment.
Thanks Bobby! I'll just be sure to have extra ice packs for when I get done with the WOD!

Jason, that's hilarious! I did not know that Pop tarts had a dual use.
