The video showed Brendan doing some of the worst looking burpees I have ever seen! I realize this workout kills your shoulders by holding the bar above your head during the lunges, but he only made a half-ass attempt to get his hands up during the jumping phase. Aren't you supposed to clap or the rep does not count? I remember reading that somewhere...was it from the games last year?
Yeah, his time is enviable, but his form ruined that workout!
"Here at CrossFit Diesel we be enforcing a strict burpee standard. (yay burpees!)
A video clips that demonstrate the standard can be reviewed here:

I want everyone on board with this."
But on a serious note. Knee contact = scaled burpees. A knee push-up is a scaled push-up - Here the standard is the same. Fast motion can make it hard to tell, so it is on the athlete to self-correct when there movement standard begins to deteriorate.
Oh, and it should say "we'll be enforcing ..." The typo was in the original post that I cut and pasted. Clearly our standards are on movement and not grammar.

I liked the gymnast video. I think I'll aim for technique somewhere between Brendan and her.
Seriously though, today's 22 burpees seemed especially painful after the handstand walking soreness really kicked in.
